Modular Molds for Creative Cooks

We have a vocabulary of shapes. Pies are round and flat. Muffins are round with a peak. Brownies are cooked in a sheet and cut into squares. All of these shapes become visuals cues of what to expect. Bonsai Bakery explores what happens when we break with the vocabulary of shape.

I experimented with creating my own modular cooking molds. By casting bake-safe silicone in laser cut plexiglas molds I have made pyramid muffins, spheres of sticky buns, and attempted triangular pop overs.
