Limina connector

Capturing the process of creation as I solder wires to snaps so that I can use them to connect modular speakers to their power source.

Liminal Connection

A tried and true technique of wearable technology is using snaps as electrical connections. Given that the snap is made of conductive metal—and requiring that there is no insulating paint—I can solder one wire to the female snap piece and the connecting wire to the male snap piece. Thus, when the snaps are connected, they create a firm connection that is also easily broken when desired.

Here, I am using a pair of “helping hand” clips to hold the snap in place as I solder the wire to the snap.
